You will never believe what I did last night...
Hey Girlies,
So check out this! I have been feeling really icky and gross these past two days. So yesterday I was home with Lydia and feeling gross and starting like shaking and puking and couldnt drink anything. So, after some debate and the beginnings of a fever, I wound up going to the hospital and got an IV for dehydration!!! It was crazy. I was proud of myself for not freaking out too bad. And Lydia was amazing and stayed with me throughout the whole endeavor.
But now I am fine. Just letting you know about my excitement.
Hope all is well with you.
Kisses,
Emily

Okay I finally got it!
Hi everyone!!
Sorry it took me so long to join the blog. I lost the email with the instructions to join, and without it I couldn't figure out how to do it! Anyway, I'm here now, catching up on everyones posts. I am glad everyone is doing well, but I'm also so sad that we're all split up now, except for Kemi and I.
Julie, you live close, this is ridiculous, we need to get together.
Anyway, let me give you guys a quick update on me. My life just went from 0 to 60 over the last 2 weeks and I am completely crazed most of the time. Tony and I have been planning to move in together at the begining of the new year. I love my job at Justice, but when the two of us sat down to budget everything out, I realized that I really am not making enough to support myself on my own. SO I sent out some resumes on Careerbuilder.com and surprisingly got a lot of great responses. SO I am starting a new job as assistant manager with Charles David (a high end shoe and handbag boutique) in the King of Prussia mall as of the 1st week of October! I will be making 10-12k more than I am at Justice which definitely allows me to move out.
Tony and I went apartment hunting this weekend and found a fantastic place in KOP and we're moving in October! AHH! I'm a grown up too! I do still go into NYC once a week for classes, which are actually pretty cool this year.
Julie, now that I am going to be in KOP, we REALLY have no excuse for not hanging out!!
I am SO glad we are doing this, because I really miss you all and I hope we can all be consistent and keep this up.
I love and miss all of you!
xoxo

Live from Brandeis
Hey Girlies,
I hope all is well with all of you! This morning has been sort of slow ( waiting for some people to meet with ), so I figured Id post and see how all of you are.
Things here are good. My apt. is coming together. I really like Lydia so that has been nice. I have been seeing some friends from Wes also, which is cool. Thursday there is a Wes reunion organized by the alumni club at a bar near me, so that should be interesting.
Oo. another cool thing. At 1210pm I have a 10 minute chair massage free through Brandeis' HR! How ridiculous is that?! I am so excited. and nervous. I bet it is going to be mad awkward, but whatever.
Besides that I have just been trying to get used to Boston. Enjoying the city. I saw Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Monday which made me think of all of you, sort of. It was a way stupid movie, but fun to see. I saw it in this really sketchy theatre, so that was weird.
This Saturday I am going to a wedding with Jeff. Which is exciting but feels so adult. You know, being old enough to have a "plus one" all of a sudden. We went shopping for a gift at Macy's ( in the registry) and it felt like play acting. But its not.
Ok. I should get some work done. Keep me posted.
Kisses,
Emily

Kisses from Boston
Girls,
Let me tell you this. Bostonians are a bunch of babies. Tom Brady's knee is a bigger deal here than the economy, the election, anything!!! Jeff can like barely smile these days. It is just too much!
(on a related note: I beat Kemi at fantasy football this week. hehehe)
Anyways, besides that things are ok. I had my first youth group event last night. The rabbi didn't think a nyone would make it on such short notice ( we emaile dinfo about it out like less than two weeks ago) but we got 20 people!! Which was really exciting. Honestly, it felt like the first really useful thing I have done since working in Boston. So, like Julie, I am searching my soul to see if I picked the wrong profession. I think I get worried about prestigue and shit like that, but doing Jewish eduation or Jewish event planning might be something I really do like. But we'll see. I felt good about this job yesterday when we found out this year we have over $1.5 mil in grants coming in. So thats exciting.
Besides that, my apt. is so not set up. Well Lydia's stuff is. But I have a half made dresser in my room. I tried to put it together on Sunday at 9pm but my neighbors banged o our floor because i was hammering. Welcome to the real world where 9pm is late!
Things with Jeff are good. Sometimes I get nervous we spend too much time together and our limiting our changes to do our own thing. But when I say that we fight and I feel like a meany. But its cool because he is traveling for work, so I'll have to do shit on my own for alot this fall, which is good. I dunno.
Keep me posted! Tell me more about life as a teacher or do gooder. Julie, just make sure you don't label yourself as a community organizer. The Republicans hate that shit, turns out!
kisses. miss u girls so much.

I'M HERE I'M HERE!
I'M HERE! Sorry...
I'm glad that the two of you have been keeping up with it though! I promise I'll be better. I'm living in Manayunk, that's true. It's been pretty good so far, we still don't have a whole lot of furniture, but I really could care less. Things with the roomies have been half good, half annoying. I'm sick of high school-ish shit talking and gossiping. Maybe someday they'll be sick of it too.
The job, like the house, is half good, half annoying. I like the organization, but I think my position is kinda silly. I shouldn't complain, because I have a significant amount of responsibility considering I graduated a hot minute ago, but I'm mostly just jealous of other people's positions. And I'm also learning a bit about myself - mostly, that I'm not competitive at all. Maybe it's just because I'm not too enthused about my position. Whatever.
Things with Matt are half good, half annoying. We're in the middle of this stupid thing. Don't want to get into it. Blech.
That's pretty much all that's going on - I'm still singing with that band, although now that the summer is over, it has slowed down significantly. So that's a bit of a bummer. In the meantime, I'm just trying to figure out how to get back into the arts. Because as much as I fight it, it might be my calling. I guess having kinda lame jobs is all about figuring out what you don't want to do with your life, and learning how to suck it up and make money to pay the rent.
I'm glad to hear that things are good in Bahston and at the new school. And how about MFS' SAT scores, huh?
Smooches,
Julie

Let me know the details aobut yoru new place and how soon you get to move in!!! Good luck!! Miss you, you abandoning whore haha jk...love love!!!
Around Beantown...
Hey Girls (aka Akemi),
I will not discouraged by the lack of participation. I know it will just take you time to begin to use this blog. And in the mean time I will post.
So my big excitement of the weekend was that I bought guitar hero. Our reunion made me want it so bad, and it was tax free weekend here, so I figured I could splurge from my first paycheck.
Second importance, I had dinner last night with JULIE W. AND BAYLEY! Bayley called because she came up to pack up her apartment ( which is really nice - her, Bobby, and Julie all live there with two other girls). It actually was really nice to see them and hear about how they were doing and others. Julie is filling in her medical forms but is planning on going into the Peace Corps in a year. Bayley is going to Disney for a food and beverage internship and then wants to go to nursing school. They said everyone else was good. Mike is back with that bitchy girlfriend ( which is bad), Bobby doesn't have a job yet and is dating some girl from his sailing team for like a year now, Carrie is working in NY as a paralegal but doesn't love it. I feel like there was more but I can't entirely remember it.
Anyways, keep me posted.
Miss you all/Kemi who will be reading this.
Kisses,
Emily

Hey Em,
So it seems that you and I are the only participants thus far haha. Anyway, Congrats again on your apt. I look forward to seeing it. In the meantime, when you get it set up and stuff, post pics. Also, when do you move in? And do you mean 915 each or total? Either way that is great for boston, esp Cambridge. When do you start your new job? I want to hear all about it.
Anyway, my life...hmmmm. Nothing is new. I finished working for seij yesterday. I have to work one day next weekend. Ive been to wfs a couple times. Going over the room and curriculum. Nothing special. I have meetings come the last week of Aug. First day of school is the 3rd! First day of school haha sounds funny, now that i'm in the reverse role. Home is pretty boring...nobody's around and JULIE who lives right in Many. is way too cool for school and busy to hang out. Lameee. Uh, yea so that's about it. I'll update you if anything else is new. Keep me updated and I'll chat with you later!!
xoxo

I hope it is not just me here...
Friends, Chicas, Girlies --
I hope that this blog is not just me telling you about my life. Until more people invest in it, I will continue to just share about me.
I got a job yesterday as a youth group advisor in a synagogue about 20 minutes from Brandeis. I am really excited. And it pays really well! And it should be fun.
Just letting you know about all the excitement I'm having. hehe. O, and I saw Step Brothers, and it was SOOO stupid, but surprisingly fun. O, and I had the best beer combo last night called an Adams Apple. It's hard half hard cider and half Sam Adams. So good. you should try it out this fall!
Kisses,
Emily

I FOUND AN APARTMENT!

Hey chicas,
Craziest story ever. So yesterday Lydia, her mom, Jeff, and I set out to go apartment hunting. We had three picked out and scheduled - two by Porter Square and one in Inman Square. So, Lydia and her mom get to the first one and no one is there. So they go to Starbucks to discuss and this woman overhears them and tells them that there is a spot available in her apartment complex around the corner. So, we head over and look at the apartment. Really cute. sort of small but wooden floors. nice kitchen. REALLY CLEAN!! We go and tell the people we are interested and they tell us it is only $915 ( before utilities). Let me tell you, for Cambridge that is AWESOME!! I was thinking it would be about 1300 ( Jeff though 1600). It was ridiculous. So, we fill out the paper work, return it, and never go to any of the apartments we had scheduled. It was awesome and great luck.
(This is Porter Square at the T-stop)
So, I have a place I will be living. I expect you all to visit. It will be adorable.
Kisses,
Emily

Heyy,
I see you got Kalisa to actually sign up for this one hahah. Anyway, I'm so glad you're doing well. Good luck apt hunting! Nothing is really new on my front. Just working and days off. Tomorrow, I'm going to WFS to start to set up the room and plan our social studies curriculum. I'm excited for this to start. Anyway, today's my day off so I need to go do some errands. Talk to you all soon!! Good idea Em. xoxox
Let's Keep in Touch : Electronic Attempt Number 2!

HEY FRIENDS!!!
Ok so blogging is the coolest thing these days. And is easier than live journal ( or like the same thing ), so I figured we should try this out ONE MORE TIME. Right now I am at my office in the Cohen Center for Modern Jewish Studies ( the top right of this beautiful blue Brandeis campus map). I am officially starting week 2. So far things have been good. Waiting to pick up a little, but its chugging along. My biggest thing right now is finding an apartment. You may or may not know that I am apartment hunting with Kemi's friend Lydia. Tonight we are looking at three, so hopefully one works out. Its getting a little late. And Jeff is also looking. So, its a bit of a stressful time.
I am also interviewing for jobs as a Hebrew School teacher or youth advisor. I hope I am not getting involved in too much, but I hate being bored. And, if I get this job, it pays REALLY well. If I get it, I will brag how much. Not until then, though.
cultural tip: this weekend I saw "Man on Wire" with my uncles ( Danny and Artie, for those of you who have met them). IT WAS FANTASTIC!! It gave me total vertigo ( it is about a wire walker who walked in between the WTC!!) . But it is SOOO good. You should all go see it!!! Its an artsy film, but I'm sure you would be able to find it.
Ok. I miss you all. Let's for real keep in touch.
Kisses,
Emily
